Computer locks up durring install.

I have a friend that is upgrading from win98 and halfway
between doing the update, When it is loading the files I
think, it locks up. I think it's the video driver needing
updating. It's an Mpact driver. Any thoughts?

how about some pertinent info on the PC...so far you have provided
nothing...
