Computer hangs After Verifying DMI Pool Data - Unplug, Restart, says "Update Success", and Loads - I

After installing a new power supply, my computer hangs just after verifying
DMI Pool Data. If I restart after unpluging power cord (and plugging back
in), when it gets to the DMI screen it says: "update Success" and loads as
normal. Checked all connections, replace power cord, tried a different
power supply, still having same problem. Since the problem repairs
itself when the power is unplugged, I'm wondering if it could be the CMOS
or something else that has memory that is lost when power is interrupted?
Any Ideas?
