Computer freezing

Have packard bell running windows 2000 professional but it
keeps crashing, event viewer comes up with error with
server but not accessable. HELP!!

What does Event Viewer say exactly?
Exactly what is the machine trying to do when it "freezes"?
What exactly do you mean by freeze?
Are the freezes random, or reproducible? If the latter, how?
Are the freezes permanent, or just prolonged?
Any clues in Device Manager?
Is this behavior recent? If so, have you recently installed ANY new
hardware/software (including Microsoft system updates)?
The machine is on what kind of network? (You said 'server'.)
Is this an old machine (all device drivers must be W2k-specific; drivers
for older systems will NOT work)?
And did you upgrade some older version of Windows to W2k instead of
doing a clean install (perilous at best)?
....and so on.
