computer file audio out of sync & timeline video stalls

i'v had big probs w audio being out of sync when i make a computer file
even tho the alteratn i did to the timeline was very minimal
(ea time i made a file of the same project, somewhat different areas were o
o sync!)
the importd file is avi made with mpegstreamclip
the exported file is wmv
(what i finally did was paste audio to the 2nd audio line, mute the 1st, &
that worked)
also
sometimes when i play the timeline the video stalls
