computer drops off network

I have a system that when it boots up and you initially
log in, You can access the network, the internet, and all
resources. After approx 10 to 20 min, it drops off the
network. Though it retains its ip address. I have tried
changing the shares timeout, changing the network card.
and everything else i know. I need some help.
It is set up on DHCP
 
Is this a windows 2000 pro pc? If so, do you have service
pack 4 installed? Recently had the same issue and upon
installing sp4 the problems were gone. Just a thought,
good luck.
