Computer crashes when playing COD4

Hi!

Got a problem. My computer gets shut down from time to time when I am
playing COD4 for no visible reason.

I checked the logbook and found out several errors that occured almost at
the same time (see timestamp):

Error 2008-11-20 21:58:50 Service Control Manager Eventlog
Provider 7026 None
Error 2008-11-20 21:58:50 Service Control Manager Eventlog
Provider 7034 None
Error 2008-11-20 21:58:46 Service Control Manager Eventlog
Provider 7000 None
Error 2008-11-20 21:58:35 HttpEvent
15016 None
Error 2008-11-20 21:58:32 EventLog
6008 None

Tried to follow the online-help stuff from Microsoft TechNet, but the system
seems to run fine.. Although
I am not a Tech guy, so I may miss stuff that I don't understand.

Can someone give me some help?

Oh, and I am using Windows Vista Home Basic, genuine 64bit version.

Regards

Gustaf

What do you mean when you say it shuts down? Does it just power off
mid game, or is it an instant restart? (If so, try disabling auto
restart on crash, then you'll see an error message).

Quite often problems like this are due to graphics drivers or
overheating.
