CompletePC backup cannot be restored in beta2, correct?

H

Hope

Can a CompletePC Backup be restored? I created a backup which forced me to
choose both my C partition and my Vista partition but when I press F8 at
startup and go to the Recovery Console to check to see if I am able to
restore it, it is just the old XP recovery
console and doesn't give me a choice of Windows System Image Backup as is
mentioned in the documentation.

I can't find the Vista Windows RE, when I boot from the Vista DVD, or if I
press f8 at startup.

Is this not yet implemented?

Boot with the Vista installation DVD (make sure that you boot with the one
you installed from: 32 bit or 64 bit) and go to the point where you see your
drives listed.

There, under the list of drives, one of the options will take you to a
Complete PC Recovery.

Sorry that I cannot be more specific, but I am not in front of a Vista
computer right now.

I'm just try to do the Restoer from a CompletePC backup that I do prior going
on holidays. It seem to finish correctly but the computer does't boot.

I have tried many times and I don't know how to solve this problem also with
the system boot inspector.

Anyone can help me?

I had the same problem, what you need to do is:

1. Boot from the VISTA intstall dvd
2. Select system recovery option on INSTALL WINDOWS screen
3.Select operating system to repair (most likely on C:)
4. Choose recovery tool>COMPLETE PC RESTORE
5.When WELCOME TO WINDOWS DISASTER RECOVERY screen appears select
the complete PC backup you want to use
6. Select format and repartion disks
7. Remove DVD and remove after copy

There is also a message in this newsgroup on how you can copy WINDOW
RECOVERY ENVIRONMENT to hard disk.
