compaq netelligent switch connected on 10mbps ?

Well i just took over a network, which has a ethernet LAN based on
netelligent 5226a switch , the clients pc show connected speed of 10mbps on
all PCs ? the switch is 100Mbps , all the rest of the network hardware
"cable & NICs" is 10/100 mbps compalient ,
what can be the reason it shows 10mbps in connected LAN speed ?
