Compac disk load to other machine

I bought a win2k disk and license off of ebay and would
like to use it to replace the ME program I'm currently
running.

When I try to install from CD, during restart a text msg
states that this disk is for a different machine and won't
install.

Obviously the value of the program isn't tied to the life
of the original machine ...how do I get around this
problem?
