Combining Clips

most of the time this works fine but I have 2 clips that refuse to combine.
No error message - nothing happens. They are both clips captured off the
same digital 8 tape and other clips from this footage have combined fine.
Its not a major problem as I can just run one after the other but I would
like to know why I can't do it. Any Ideas?

Jon,

It will only combine two clips that were made separate by the splitting
process, and there are no trim points to adjust the ends that are being
combined.

2 clips captured as 2 different files from the same tape can't be
combined....
