color laser printer: Per page printing costs

J

John

I am looking to buy a color laser printer with small per page printing
costs.
I print mostly B&W (1000 pages/month) and color(100 pages/month). I
would
like to get the data of per page printing costs for printers from Dell
(3100cn?)
, HP, Lexmark, Okidata, Xerox, Brother, ...

Does anyone know of a site that has done these kinds of tests on color
laser printers? Or does anyone here have that data on recent printers?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Simple, find out how much toner supplies cost and divide that number into
the number of prints they will make.

Consider buying two laser printers. One for Color and one for B&W. B&W laser
printers are now very cheap and easy to refill.

I have a HP 2600n and an HP 1012 both for less than $650. I will probably
buy new printers before the cartridges wear out at my low level of usage
which is similar to yours.

No, unfortunately it's not that simple. There is a standard for what
constitutes a b/w page. Not so for color.

So the OP's question for some resource that tests these uniformly to
back up claims made by the manufacturer is reasonable and useful. If
he finds such a site, it'd be a great resource.

The black toner in many color lasers are equally cheap and easy to
refill, so I'm not sure this makes sense for the energy and space
costs of a 2nd laser printer.
