CMOS Option "OS Install Mode"

Does anyone know exactly what the "os install mode" option does? its on a
Dell Dimension 8300. it seems to do something similar to safe mode, as well
as limiting the available memory. This is just an educated guess based on
the results, but if anyone knows or has URL with documentation, i would
really like to read it
