closing without prompting

I have a problem on a couple of my standalone windows xp systems with office
xp. Outlook will just shut down with out any prompting when a new message is
opened. This happens intermittently and I am looking for any patches or
updates on this issue. I have sp1 on one system and sp2 on the other, my
thinking is that this is some kind of reg setting or such. TIA
 
What is logged to the Event Viewer? Did you apply Office XP Service Pack 3 +
additional hotfixes already?
