I recently downloaded a template from MSOFFICE and now the document will not close. I have tried closing only the document as well as the program and I have the same result. The save window appears and after I key "yes" the document remains on the screen unable to close it. My os is XP Home Edition upgraded to Professional Edition.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK

Hi, garfield-n-odie, thanks, I looked at the article and I even tried to close it that way nada
My OS is XP Professional, Office 2003, I have an old 95 OS with Office 97 and never had this problem
The template was Field trip permission form, I followed the instructions. I never even got the save window, after downloading. This template gave the impression that, first I had to make my changes in order to save. Been there, done that, nada. I feel like Charlie Brown on the football field with Lucy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for help

Hi, truckrwolf. Does the article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;167317 "Cannot
Close or Save Htmlview.dot" apply to your situation? If not, what
template did you download? What version of Word do you have? Did you
open the downloaded template itself, or did you create a new document
based on the downloaded template

Hi, truckrwolf. I downloaded the "basic field trip permission form"
template from the Microsoft site and see what you mean now... this is
the first template I've seen like this on the Microsoft site. It is set
up as an online form, so it will allow you to fill it out on-screen and
print it if you want, but you can't save it like you would a normal Word
document. How you get out of it is to close the window, and when
prompted to save changes, say no... then the document will close.
