Clock

I have WinXP Pro with SP2.

It appears that my clock [on the lower corner of my desktop] drops an
hour regularly. I don't change anything...except when the time is
wrong...which is pretty often.

How would I fix this problem?

Thank you,

If it drops the hour when turned off, then the computer's BIOS clock may be
incorrect. Replace the Lithium-Ion battery that is mounted on the motherboard.

Is it dropping *exactly* an hour?

That would be more indicitave of your time zone settings getting messed
than a screwed up CMOS battery.

Yes, it is dropping EXACTLY an hour.

I thought the problem lay in the time zone settings, as you did, and I
check it each time…and the zone is correct (Eastern).
