clipbook viewer

Windows-xp is supposed to have a clipbook viewer
capability, including 127 pages of storage, as indicated
in the clipboard help menu. But this utility is NOT
available. Where has it gone? Has Microsoft ditched it?

The Clipboard Viewer can be activated by
using "Clipbrd.exe". You can find it in C:\WINDOWS\system32
\clipbrd.exe. Just make a copy of Clipbred.exe and place
it, as a shortcut, where you will find it handy. I keep
mine in Start/Programs/Accessories. But you can place it
wherever you like.

Hope this helps,
Milt

Clipbook viewer should be accessable from the clipboard. The printscreen feature is something else. Clipbook viewer has 127 pages of storage available, plus significant sharing capabilities. Please refer to the drop-down menu in clipboard viewer. -LMUnger

Are you asking about the PrintScreen feature?

Thanks for your reply. I've actually done what your link suggests, which just puts a shortcut on the desktop for the clipboard viewer. It does not access the CLIPBOOK viewer which should be available in the window drop-down menu, BUT ISN'T! That utility should be available, as per instructions in the clipboard help menu. Take a look at this yourself, and let me know your thoughts. -LMUnge

Thanks for your reply. I'm looking for CLIPBOOK viewer, not CLIPBOARD viewer. The former should be accessable through the latter, via the window drop-down menu. Please refer to the help menu in the clipboard viewer to see what this is all about. -LMUnger

Lawrence,

I understand what you're saying. Here's a page published by Microsoft:

Open the ClipBook Viewer

Remember the old Clipboard Viewer? It’s also called the ClipBook
Viewer in Windows XP. The ClipBook Viewer shows you the information you have
copied to the Clipboard. You can store information permanently in your Local
ClipBook and share it with other users. The Local ClipBook opens when you
start ClipBook Viewer.

The ClipBook Viewer isn’t listed in the Accessories folder on the
Start menu in Windows XP, so you might want to create a shortcut to it on
your desktop:

1.. Right-click your desktop, point to New, and then click Shortcut.
2.. In the location field, type C:WINDOWS\system32\clipbrd.exe.
3.. Click Next to give it a name, then click Finish and you’re all
set. "
It appears to me Clipbook and Clipboard are one in the same. (I do
not have any expertise in this area though. I may be wrong.)

It's shameful how Microsoft can't admit that they've ditched the Clipbook Viewer. Yes, you can open clibrd, but it ain't doin' what Clipbook used to do. In spite of the promises from the Help menu, all the relevant Page menu items are blanked out. Is there a fix?!?!?!? Will there be?!?!?!?
