ClipBOOK (not ClipBOARD!) Window in the ClipBook Viewer

The ClipBook Viewer in 2KPro gave two options in the Window menu:
1) clipBOARD, and
2) clipBOOK.
I used the ClipBOOK a lot.

I now upgraded to XP and had no trouble placing a Shortcut to the ClipBook
Viewer on my desktop. The problem is that the Viewer's 'Window' menu has
ClipBOARD only---no clipBook window option. It seems that the old ClipBook
function is now ClipServer (or is that something different?) and is
disenabled by default (see
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pr...technologies/management/svrxpser_7.mspx#EAGAC).
How can I get this function enabled? Is is the same as the ClipBook?

clipbrd.exe is the Windows NT ClipBook Viewer.

Start | Run | Type: clipbrd | Click OK |

Create a shortcut to %systemroot%\system32\clipbrd.exe

You do NOT need the ClipBook service or ClipSrv running if not on a network.
Best to keep it Disabled for security reasons.

The ClipBook service or ClipSrv enables ClipBook Viewer to store information
and share it with remote computers. If the service is stopped, ClipBook
Viewer will not be able to share information with remote computers. If this
service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to
start.

clipsrv.exe is the ClipBook service. The ClipBook service depends on the
Network DDE service. The Network DDE service depends on the Network DDE DSM
service. So all of those services would have to be set to automatic and
running in order for the ClipBook service to run

From ClipBook Viewer HELP:
[[When you cut or copy information from a program, it is moved to the
Clipboard and remains there until you clear the Clipboard or until you cut
or copy another piece of information. The Clipboard window in ClipBook
Viewer shows the contents of the Clipboard. You can paste the information
from the Clipboard into any file as often as you like. However, the
information is only stored on the Clipboard temporarily.
Using ClipBook Viewer, you can cut or copy information from another program
and store it in a page that you can name, save, use again, and share with
others. ]]

From ClipBook Viewer HELP:
[[To save the contents of the Clipboard to a file
In ClipBook Viewer, click the Window menu, and then click Local ClipBook.
On the File menu, click Save As.
In Save in, navigate to the folder where you want to save the file.
In the File name box, type a name for the file you want to save.
Click Save.

Note
The default extension for a Clipboard file is .clp. ]]

If you do a Save As from clipbrd.exe, My Documents comes up as the default
save location for the .clp file. .clp files are NT Clipboard Files.

Please reread my post more carefully---your post tells me how to do things I
specifically said I had no problem with, such as putting a shortcut to the
..exe on the desktop...:)....I already am very familiar with the all the
items you quote from Help......

You quote:
"> In ClipBook Viewer, click the Window menu, and then click Local ClipBook."

My entire post says---nothing more, nothing less---that there IS NO Local
ClipBook option to click in the ClipBook Viewer's Window menu...:)...! That
is the problem---it's missing....:)....! Thus the functions of the ClipBook,
such as they are, are missing/inaccessible......
