Client could not connect to remote computer

I've been trying to connect to my office computer from
home.

Office is on DSL and home is on cable. Both are running
XP Pro. I've checked allow remote access and set up
remote desktop.

I get the above error when loggin in:

In the box used for remote connection I've been typing
the IP address of my office machine (as opposed to it's
name) since I'm not on the LAN. I'm using my name and
password as if I was at the computer.

Why won't it connect? Should the host be on but logged
off?

You need to use the public IP address of the "remote" system and need
to enable the forwarding of TCP Port 3389 in any firewall/router at
the "remote" end.
