I Have 2 WINXP PC's connected with a crossover cable, a NIC in each. Th
lan is setup and works correctly.

The LAN TCP/IP settings on the host are IP: 192.68.0.1 subnet mas
255.255.255.0. IEEE enabled, MS client, MS file & printer sharing
TCP/IP, and QoS protocols all installed.

On the Client, IP: 192.168.0.2, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway:192.168.0.1, DNS: as specified by ISP.

The Dialup connection has ICS enabled, IP& DNS are obtaine
automatially. network is allowed to use this connection to connect t
the internet.

client Internet explorer has no check boxes checked under LAN settings
and is set to never dial a connection.

The Client used to have WIN2K but I upgraded it to XP after I gave u
fixing it (same problem as now)

So now I have a problem still that the client computer will not acces
the net through the host, even after enabling the famed ICS.

I tried using wingate but it wouldnt install. SyGate on the clien
refuses to connect to the host.

Its like the client has decided that it just doesnt want to have th
internet.

someone please help

I am reading you as being able to connect to net with
host but not with client. I had similar problem. Client
could not display the page. In my case, I have ZoneAlarm
on each computer. Found out that I had to disable
ZoneAlarm on host and enable Windows XP firewall
instead. This permitted client to open web pages through
LAN. Would prefer to use ZoneAlarm, so have emailed Zone
for help. No response yet. Hope this is of some help.
