Clicking on Links

I am using XP -2 with IE 6. When I click on a link to go forward I
get a red circle with a red line through it and stay on the previous
page. If I try again to go to the link the same thing happens. It
also happens with other links.
Sometimes I am able to go to links from different pages.
For example in an e-mail when I click the link to go to the browser
the circle and line come up and I stay in the e-mail program. This
happens with other links even inside IE.
Thanks.

What happens if you hold the CTRL key when you try to open them? Do they
open? If so then you're probably set on HIGH in your popup blocker settings.
I use, and recommend, medium which kills the majority of them but still
allows sites to open in new window so I don't navigate away from the content
I was looking at.
