Clearing Explorer/IE History

For days now i have been trying clear the history from my IE and Explorer address bar. When i do a clear history from Internet options this gets rid of all URL history but it doesnt clear folder history. Is their any way of doing this rather then switching off autocomplete. Far as i can see it seems to be keeping a history of all the folders which i have accessed recentl

Take a look at a third party freeware application called 'CleanCache'
available from www.buttuglysoftware.com This is a great little application
that will clear your internet explorer and history cache along with ahost of
other caches including the index.dat. You can even set it up to clear
everything on startup or shutdown. What most people don't realise is that,
even though you have cleared yourt temporary internet files, cookies, and
history a record is still kept of all your activity in the index.dat files.
Obviously the more your 'surf the web' the bigger the index.dat files get.

Download and install TweakUI from:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Click on Explorer header and check/uncheck which you want:

- Clear document history on exit (exit = user logoff, I think), or
- Maintain document history

Or, to clean up many usage tracks whenever you like, download System
Security Suite from:

http://www.igorshpak.net/
