Cleaning out Temp Internet Files and Cookies

J

Joe McGuire

At frequent intervals I get rid of the temporary internet files--a lot of
them, at least--by going (in IE) to Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files,
checking Delete all Offline Content and clicking OK. There are still a lot
of files left in the Temporary Internet folder, but this gets rid of maybe
80% of what's there.

I can also delete cookies with the same process, but clicking on Delete
Cookies instead. But I think there are some cookies I would want to keep,
such as ones that let me lot in automatically to certain sites I may visit,
such as airlines andthe like. Is there a way to figure out which are the
keepers. Sure, a few of them have something in their name that might give
me a hint. But what about the rest? I sure don't want to have to look up
my password and screen name everytime I surf somewhere familiar. Any
recommendations??

Joe,

Perhaps once in a while, you can use the method given in the following site
to remove the TIF and Index.dat (via other user account)

For managing the cookies, I use AnalogX Cookiewall.
