Why is it so blasted difficult to add and remove items from XP's "Send
To" menu? Why is there more than 1 copy of this silly folder in XP?
I do not want my cd burner in the "Send To" folder. I do not do packet
writing, I do not burn multisession disks. None of my cd burning apps
are set to do packet writing. So why can't I find the silly short cut MS
put in this folder without asking if I wanted it and delete the darn
thing?
Why can't I change the icon for "my documents" (which I want to rename
to "docs") in this menu? It's only a silly shortcut yet there is no
option to change its icon. For that matter, why can't I change the icons
for the drives I do want in the send to menu, the floppy and removeable
disk?
I want the "Send To" menu to be the same for all accounts of this pc. I
am the only person who uses this machine. The only reason I have set up
multiple account on this machine is in case I trash one I can log on as
another user and delete the trashed account. I won't bore anyone with
the details on the need for that.
I have have been searching this item on Google and I get plenty of hits
on how to add items (which I already know how to do for the current
user) but it seems no one, even the mvps knows how to remove unwanted
drives from this menu. They are not listed in C:\Documents and Settings
\joeschmo\SendTo. Using Start,Run, SendTo simply brings up that folder
as well.
This was so easy in Win98SE: Open C:\Windows\SendTo, and add or remove
anything you wanted. I tweaked this folder constantly.
Ditzy MS programers. Grrrrrrrrrrr!
