Clean uninstall of Windows Defender

I uninstalled Windows Defender some time ago. Now I have to reinstall Panda
Titanium 2007 and keep getting 'install failed" messages. Panda support says
I have Windows Defender signatures installed. I have done a search and a
registry clean and removed all traces of Defender that I can find, but Panda
still won't install. How does one do a clean uninstall of Defender that
removes everything? Or at least the signatures?
PS. Yes, I will get rid of Panda as soon as the subscription runs out.

Installing Panda after uninstalling a Microsoft security product reminds me
of some problems with that and the Windows Live OneCare (AV suite) although
I haven't heard of it directly with just a Windows Defender (basically a
part of OneCare) installation before your post. See if this OneCare thread
doesn't help you resolve the issue, although I suspect Panda support may
have encountered the very same issue and have a more appropriate or
specific workaround for Defender as well.

Let us know if this problem isn't resolved after looking at the above, or
if you needed to follow up with Panda Support, then what was necessary to
complete the installation. Sorry I can't be more specific.
