Windows Defender and Backdoor:Win32/Rbot.gen

Marty

my computer I am running Windows Defender and everytime I start up or reboot
I get the warning that this needs to be deleted. Defender says that it
deletes it and full scans by McAffee VirusScan Plus and Defender find no
trace of it.......

But on the next start up the Backdoor:win32/Rbot.gen warning is back...

Any ideas how I can get rid of this permanently????

Thanks

Hello Marty:

Try running the freeware versions of GMER, MBAM & SAS in that order.

GMER: <http://www.gmer.net/#files> to be run in normal mode.
MBAM: <http://www.malwarebytes.org/> to be run in normal mode.
SAS: <http://www.superantispyware.com/> to be run in safe mode.

Please post a follow-up with your progress.

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but do wonder if you posted this back on
Oct. 19 and still have not received help from this group. Please post back
and let me know, and good luck with your virus!
