I need to buy a new colour inkjet printer for the house
My usage is occasional, but I currently get fed up with having to replace the whole colour cartridge when only one colour has expired.
Speed is not critical and I don't need photo quality printing
I want a reasonable price for the printer itself and not to get ripped off when buying new cartridges
All input to my decision making is very welcome
Thanks

Something like the Epson Stylus D92 will be cheap and cheerful, and it uses separate inks for each colour - it is slow at printing, but if you need it for light use it may fit the bill at £25. I would suggest this for only occasional use, and perhaps use refills at about £15 for a complete set.

The Canon Pixma Ip3500 is £50 and uses 4 ink tanks, but is faster and better for photo printing. Although if you are just using light printing and aren't bothered about speed or photo printing then the first printer may do the trick.
