Can the CHKDSK command be applied to repair specific file(s) on the hard
disk , rather than the entire harddisk ?

I don't believe so. You should run chkdsk every so often anyway to avoid
potential problems.

Yes. You can find the correct syntax by opening up a command prompt then
type chkdsk /?, which will show you all the syntax options.

No. It's all or nothing.

Paste the following line into Start | Run and click OK....

hh ntcmds.chm::/chkdsk.htm

also open a command prompt, type: chkdsk /? and hit Enter.
