chkdsk won't run

Anyone know why chkdsk won't run? I keep getting a message from diskkeeper
saying it can't defrag because of a problem and that I should run chkdsk. I
set it to run by

chkdsk c: /r

But when I reboot it doesn't run and I get the diskkeeper popups again.

When you press enter, after typing chkdsk c: /r, you get a message to press
Y if you want the utility to run upon the next reboot.

Do you enter Y and then press enter to allow this to happen?

If you knew as much as you think you know,
You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew!

Sometimes third party applications like virus checker or,disk monitor
tool lock the partition to run the Chkdsk command. In that case you
disable the third party application which might be causing the lock problem.
Start>run>services.msc>ok
Now scroll down to the suspected application, right click on that and
select Properties.Make the Startup type to disabled.Click Ok/Apply.Restart.
