chkdsk: Insufficient disk space to fix volume bitmap

hi,

how do I solve a "Insufficient disk space to fix volume bitmap" when running
chkdsk?

I have tried "chkdsk g: /f" and "chkdsk g: /f /r" from the cmd-prompt and
Windows done the same automatically on reboot

i'm using xp pro latest sp, the bad drive is a slave disk that should
contain at least 100 Gb free space !

thank a lot

It needs about 15% free space to use for working space. The solution is to
cleanup the disk.

hi Jim,

Unfortunally it's a bad drive that doesn't show up i Windows Explorer - have
had some kind of crash - I thought "chkdsk" would be the solution (done that
before), and now i'm stuck, I cant access the drive through neither Windows
Explorer or the cmd prompt (like g:) - and chkdsk just aborts!. I've tried
chkdsk manually and on reboot - same error.

But maybe i'm asking the wrong question - maybe I should ask why the drives
is not visible too the OS (recognized in BIOS)
