chkdsk always at startup

Why does chkdsk always run when I start my Windows XP
computer? It is NOT in the scheduled tasks or in the
startup folder. It always says a disk needs to be
repaired every time I boot even after running a regular
thorough scandisk. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hello!
Look here:-

Chkdsk Runs Each Time That You Start Your Computer
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316506

Or

Click Start >Run >type "regedit" > ok

Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager

Double click the "BootExecute" value, and remove all the
entries

If this dosnt clear the problem you may well have a problem
with your Hard Drive go to the manifacturers website for
diagnostic tools.
