Can anyone help with this little problem?

For a couple of weeks now my PC has been acting strange. In the middle of
me working with any program my Pc would just re-boot and go in a "Checking
File System" mode. Looks like DOS, but under windows 2000 heading. It says
that it is "checking for Consistency". It sometimes files some error and
then it says that it has converted them into free space. At this time I am
writing quickly as so my PC doesn't re-boot.

Hi John,

Are all your cooling fans running? My box was doing things like
rebooting when the power supply fan gunked up and stopped running.

The file checking that's going on when it reboots is normal for a
previous improper Windoze shutdown.
