Changing User Names

Can you change a users name / login username without creating a new user.
For example, one of our users was originally setup as "bill1". I would like
to change this to just "bill", but I do not want to have to change anything
else with his user.

Yes you can rename the users log in name, but the folders for his user will
not change. They will still show bill1 in explorer, but on the log in screen
it will show bill.
Control panel, user accounts.
