changing to windows 2000 from windows xp

how do you do it? my laptop won't let me install windows
2000 in place of xp. Can anyone help?
 
No, you cannot directly install Winn 2000 over XP.
You'll have to start from scratch by deleting the XP
partition, create a new partition, format the partition
(preferably NTFS) and install Win 2000 "clean".
