Bala

Hi,
I had recently bought a laptop/notebook from TOSHIBA
and it came with the Windows XP Home Edition in German as
I purchased it in Germany. Now I would like to change the
industry pre-installed OS into the English. I have got a
recovery CD from TOSHIBA which is in German too.. Does
anybody know how can I get this recovery CD changed to
english...

please do kindly oblige,

regards
Bala

Hi,

You can't do it. You will need to purchase a full English version and do a
clean installation.

Call Toshiba, but I doubt if they will assist you. Buy an English version of
Windows, equivalent to the version you now have, Home or Professional. Then
do a repair install.

Oops! A repair install will not work? I would have thought it would replace
"all" core files!

Greetings --

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS
to another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of
English WinXP to perform a clean installation.
