Changing SATA (RAID) drivers after MB crash????

S

sammy

Ok, I'm close, so please don't tell me this can't be done. My MB with a
Promise SATA PDC-20376 onboard controller crashed on me. So, I was forced
to buy a MB with a different SATA(RAID) controller... This one being VIA
VT8237 Southbridge. I only have 1 SATA hard drive, but the Promise
Fasttrack SATA(RAID)drivers are loaded with the new motherboard & new
SATA(raid) controller making the hard drive unbootable. My question is how
can I replace the old RAID drivers with new ones to match my current
configuration without requiring a reformat or deleting partitions? Is this
possible using the Recovery console? The drivers I need to replace are:

FASTTX2K.cat
FASTTX2K.inf
FASTTX2K.sys

with these:

viasraid.cat
VIASRAID.INF
viasraid.sys

Any suggestions are Greatly Appreciated!!
TIA.
