I normally use 32 bit highest resolution 1024 x 768. Every time I reboot my
screen resolution returns to 8 bit low resolution. What could be causing
this. Thank you.

Check in the registry :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
key NoSaveSettings must have the value of 0 (REG_DWORD 0)

If the Key do not exist you must create it with that value.

This setup keep the user parameter after you reboot.

Tell us if this fix the problem.

Have a nice day :-)

Possibly setting it to a refresh rate outside what it thinks the monitor
can handle. Try a lower one
