Changing microphones

I have two microphones. The one I'd prefer to use with
messenger is the one built into the camera (logitech).
The other one is through the sound card. I have changed
the microphone through control panel and it works. That
is, I can unplug the sound card's microphone and am able
to record videos using the camera and getting both audio
and video. However, when I call up messenger, it will not
work unless I plug a microphone back into the sound card.
The control panel says I'm using the microphone from the
camera, but obviously I'm not. I tried uninstalling
messenger and reinstalling to no avail. Any hints on what
to try next?

Not trying to be insulting, but did you check (in messenger) the tools -->
audio tuning wizard and reconfigure it to use your camera microphone?

Thanks. I'm embarassed -- not insulted. I looked for the
wizard and couldn't find it.

Click on Tools and it is one of the selections. something like Audio/Video
Tuning Wizard..
