Changing Drive letters

I'm new to XP.
In Computer Management, when I click "Disk Management", I get the following:
"Logical Disk Manager.
The Service Data Base is Locked.
OK"
Help please.

In Computer Management, when I click "Disk Management", I get the following:
"Logical Disk Manager.
The Service Data Base is Locked.

In the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services make sure that
this service is up and running. If the service cannot be started,
right-click it and open the Properties > Dependencies. The services
listed here have to run as well.
Also scan this system for viruses and other malware.

You cannot change the letter of the C drive.

All OK now although I don't know why. The next time I tried there was no
problem. I am aware the C drive cannot be changed.
