Changing the letter of my Hard Drive

Hi for some reason when I have loaded windows XP onto my computer it has
loaded the hard disk onto H drive. This has been causing me a little grief as
some programs that I tried to load expect the hard drive to be C:

I have gone into computer management which is in administrative tools, then
onto disk management but when I click onto change letter and paths for H:
(local Disk), it won't allow me to change or remove the letter.

I not sure how to get around this? If anyone can help it would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have a 4-in-1 card reader attached to your computer
either internally or externally? That would account for your
Windows installation ending up on an H drive.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way around this problem. You're
best approach will be to reinstall Windows but this time
disconnect any hardware that's connected to your computer other
than your keyboard, mouse and monitor. Internal card readers
and secondary hard drives should be disconnected until the
installation is complete. Only your CD/DVD drives an primary
hard drive should remain connected to the motherboard.

Good luck
