Changing domain and computer name...

Hy everybody!
I've a strance case. I can't change domain joining and
computer name on my xp pro. When i go in the
identification tab of my computer properties, i can't
change anything.
Before i was in a domain and now i work in another network.
Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

Mario,

It sounds like you may be on a Windows 2000 computer - Identification is the
tab name in Windows 2000 - In XP it's under Computer Name. This is actually
a Windows XP newsgroup.

Nevertheless, if the buttons are grayed out, it's most likely because you're
logged onto the machine with a restricted user account. Make sure you're
logged on (locally) with an admin account, or an account that has admin
rights. Once you are, you should have no problem joining the machine to a
new domain. Of course, you will also need an account that will allow you to
make a machine account on the new domain before you can join it.
