Cannot re-name the Full computer name

When I first brought my laptop I took it into work. I then had our IT person
add it to the “Domain†so I could work with the Offline files from my home.
Problem # 1
I cannot join my Workgroup at home because this laptop already belongs to a
domain.
Problem # 2
When I go into System Properties / Computer Name; I am not able to change or
rename the computer. The Network ID Wizard tab is grayed out and so is the
Change tab.

A Note on the bottom of this dialog says:
The identification of this computer cannot be changed because: Networking is
not installed or is not properly configured.

Can someone please help?

You don't want to rename your computer or play with its settings in any
way. If you do, you will not be able to join the domain at work.
Instead, in order to work with your domain-enabled computer at home,
see this information by MVP Lanwench:

Note - you don't need to change to a workgroup just to access resources
on it. You shouldn't play with your laptop's network settings at all.
Once you've logged in using your domain account (using cached
credentials), and have an IP address on the home network, you can map
drives, use printers, whatnot, very easily - one way, in a command
line:

net use x: \\computername\sharename /user:computername\username <enter>
