Differences - "Network ID" wizard and "Change..." in joining domain

Anyone know of the difference if any in using the "Network ID" wizard under
"Control Panel/System/Computer Name" to join or leave a domain and using
"Change...." to change from domain to workgroup?

The "Network ID" wizard asks you if you are a home user or business user and
whether there is a domain or not.

Does the wizard do anything different than just using the simple "Change..."
interface. I have a tech that uses one over the other and I wonder if they
both do the same thing in the end... Any other changes that it makes that I
should know of?

Thanks,
TR

Hi
If you know how to configure manually it is always better than any Wizard.

I agree, I just wondered if the wizard is doing anything extra that the user
wouldn't know about since it's asking questions about home network, etc.

Hi
Yeah it does extra. ;) Many users that keep using again and again the Wizard
cause they can not make it work, end up with a lot of extra entries in the
Registry until eventually there is No way to configure without refreshing
the whole network setting or reinstall Windows.
