changing desktop wallpaper

when i right click desktopproperties and attempt to
change background error message "run a ddll as an app"
error signature app name rundll32.exe
any assistance appreciated

Hi John,

Try extracting a new display applet. Start/run msconfig, click the "expand
file" button.

File to extract: desk.cpl
From: X:\I386
To: %windir%\system32

Where X represents whatever drive letter is assigned your CD drive (you need
your WinXP CD for this), or if the I386 folder is on your hard drive, change
it accordingly. Reboot your machine when finished.
