Changes tracking

Hi,

I have a question. They just recently upgraded my computer to Microsoft
2003. Now, whenever I open a Word document that was previously created, it
shows all the changes and I have to go in and accept all the changes, turn
off the change tracking then re-save the document. Is there a way to
permanently turn off the change tracking so all these documents won’t open up
this way?

Thank you in advance for your time!!

What is happening is that you're just seeing the tracking that was always
there. This is a new security measure to prevent you from inadvertently
sending out documents containing tracked changes. If you don't want to be
tracking changes in new documents, ensure that Track Changes is turned off.
As for the old documents, there is no way to get rid of the changes other
than to accept them all. You can change the view to Final so markup is not
displayed, and you can change an option so that Word does not use the Final
Showing Markup view by default, but this does not change the fact that there
are tracked changes in the document.
