Need Help

I was trying to get my wok PC to work on my home network
today. According to Linsys's web site I neede to set a
workgroup not a domain. I changed the machine from
domain to workgroup , rebooted and now I can not log in.
The macine says my user name or domain are not correct.
What can I do to reverse the problem?

This question comes up time and time again and the ironic thing is that it
was absolutely unnecessary for you to remove yourself from the domain to
communicate with the rest of your home network.

To get yourself back into the computer, you need to log in with a local
account. If you don't know the password to the local account, you will have
to take it back to the techies at work.

You'll probably need to do that anyway to get back onto the domain.

Need Help

I know the computer name and the domain name and the
local password. Can you put the computer name and domain
on the user name and the the password? If so, what
format do I use of the computer name?

Thanks for your help.

Still in trouble!

To log in, you just need to type in the local account name (probably
administrator), the password to that (local) account and you need to select
the local computer from the list at the bottom of the dialogue box. If it's
not showing, click "options". If you're using the Windows XP Welcome
screen, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete again to get the proper login screen.

You won't be able to join the domain without being attached to the network
at work. Your administrators also may or may not have given their users the
right to add machines to the domain themselves.
