My network suddenly has a "domain" What up?

I have a home XP network (actually trying to establish one) linked behind a
Linsys router. I have run the home network wizard, and defined a workgroup.

But, when I went to link one computer to another (remembering the workgroup
name) by mapping a new drive (I put in the "server" and folder name), I got a
notice to put in a user name and password. The examples prompt for a domain
and user-name.

I have not set up a server network. It is a simple peer-to-peer network.

Any ideas what is going on here?

What account are using to map the drive? Are you using the local
account on computer1 the one you are mapping to,i.e. connect using a
different username, or are you using the username and password from
computer2 (the computer you are trying to map from)?
Computer1 in your workgroup probably does not recognize the account
from computer2 as a valid account. Do you have the drive on computer1
shared out? Have you checked the file permissions for that shared
drive? Thats where I would start. Hope this helps.
