Change Remote Assistance Password

Hi,

We currently have an issue with Remote Assistance because we run a different
GINA than the MS one.

The problem is that when I try to connect to another computer on the LAN via
Remote Assitance it cannot connect because the password is more than 8
characters long (the GINA expects passwords over 8 characters long to be
hashed)

My question is can I change a setting so that the HelpAssistant account on
the remote machine has a password of less than 9 characters, and that my
machine tries to connect to the remote machine using the new password and
not the MS default?

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure this will be much help, but I do know the way to set the
password on that account.

Start/run, type:
control userpasswords2
advanced tab, advanced button, highlight Users, highlight HelpAssistant
user, Action menu.

I am able to change the password, but my computer does not know of the
password change and is still trying to connect with a password of 14
characters, i.e. the default MS one.
