Change OS

Hello, I have 2 computers(Dell and Gateway.Gateway is loaded with XP
professional and Dell is XP Home. They were both genuine and activated after
my installation. Quiestion is, is it legal to switch OS? Like, if i want to
install the XP professional to Dell and XP home to Gateway? If yes, what do
i do to activate them. I am sure their numbers are already activated and I
am afraid, I won't be able to activate them again. Thanks for your help

If they are both retail Windows XP, go ahead.
You will need to perform a Clean Install of Windows XP Home since there is
no downgrade path from Pro to Home.

But, if either or both are OEM, you can not move them.
OEM are normally permanently to the first computer installed and may not be
transferred regardless the condition of the computer.
If Windows XP came with the computer, the manufacturers have added other
technology making it more difficult to impossible to install on a computer
of a different brand.

It won't work as the OSs are tied to the bios of each computer.
