I had a catastrophic crash and lost my motherboard and boot drive. Rebuilt
system with new motherboard and new boot drive. had most of my software
loaded when I realized that my boot drive was E:
Some apps need/require C: to be the boot drive or they refuse to load.
Is there any method to re-assign the boot drive name without completely
re-initilaizing and reloading everything?

Reinstall and this time remove any USB, zip, memory disks, etc. The Zip
drives are notorious for stealing the C designation when installing XP.
