Sure, simply restore from your last backup.

You migh try System File checker - sfc /scannow which will prompt you for the install
cd or try a upgrade install which will require reinstall of service pack and critical

Since the question is about restoring the certificate store, this won't
help at all.

His question was a bit vague [at least to this old brain]. I was thinking he may have
problems accessing the mmc snapin. Of course it will not restore any certificates.

Ehh, I didn't know it would fix that particular issue. That is my "take two aspirins
and call me in the morning" approach that may be worth a try when I can't think of
anything more specific. : ) --- Steve
